    New Computer

    Hi guys!
I'm thinking about buy a new computer, maybe a Macbook Pro, as this:
    • 2.4GHz quad-core
      Intel Core i7
    • 8GB 1333MHz
    • 750GB 7200-rpm
    • Intel HD Graphics 3000
    • AMD Radeon HD 6770M with 1GB GDDR5

I have this idea because I play guitar, make some songs, and Mac have too much excelent tools for this, I play in one band..
Can I take the macbook in the studio..
I use Guitar Rig, and when i buy one macbook, probably i'll use Logic Pro.. and much more.

I'll start studying at university and working with video editing also, and this is very good in Mac
For example, my university has labs with iMacs
Mac is good for modeling in Maya ? This is my doubt..
3Ds Max will work on BootCamp too..
I know Mac is a really good computer, but i think about the 3D, modeling, animation.........

Someone have Macs or ideas about this ?
    Thanks, guys!

well....actually not....if u really like modeling don't use a mac...A friend of mine has a Macbook pro and i left modeling...this summer i had to change its HDD and create a partition with windows 7 to be able to model again...and he also had many problems with the more powerfull videocard, so he's forced to use the intel one (very low)

Macs aren't that good IMO, theyr prices are way too high for the service...i created my little workstation with the same costs buying a ma pro at lowest level...
The reason u buy it is for Guitar playing (good choice for that) and video editing....U will be able to model for sure, but u will face problems...copy that!
There's nothing better than staring at a product you modeled on a screen getting into production and coming to reality.

Toyota Corolla AE86 Trueno vers. , Aprilia RSV4 2010 Race Black ed.

Generally, PC's are more bang for the buck, and more customizable, although Mac's are favored for some graphics.

Also take a look at the new SSD harddrives, much better and faster than disc drives.

    I use a macbook pro now for modelling i 3ds max. A early 2011, 2,3ghz core i7, 1gb grapichs, 8gb ram, 256gb SSD drive, bootcamp with W7.
    Works perfect for me atleast.
And for those of you that haven't tried a Mac with OsX for a week or so, don't say it's shit. If i hadn't done 3d modeling i never had used windows again. That software is worth paying for!

don't get angry breden! i study with so many macs around me (kinda temporary fashion) and i've been working on them to try to fix bugs with cad programs or anything else...i told u my personal point of vue and also Chris told what i was arguing....mac isn't made for modeling and nor for programming...it's a closed box u get and if there's something not working, well...u have to install win7 on ur beautiful mac...all those people who loves mac are used to say that windows is shit...but then they'r forced to work with it...i mean...that's reality....i will never pay for a macbook that will least 3 years when i can spend less than a half money and get the same pc that allow me to do everything i want to! anyway Luke..i told ya...for music is perfect, also if many many sound programs used by professional DJs ( i told DJs) are available only for windows if u're used to mac, stay with mac....i heard that the new os is very powerfull...give it a try and make ur choice!

and my friend used MAYA, not 3ds....that's completely different, and he had many problems with mac release on lion osx...he always had to work on my little 400 bucks Parckard Bell that does the job!
