Yes!, i like it very very much, cuz of showing the world, that boxmodeling is a real alternative to poly by poly modeling concerning cars! ...like u maybe know is there very less users who swear on boxmodeling if they create a car...

I'm a complete beginner, and I use Maya, but I followed this tutorial and found it really useful. I have had trouble with some things though. Thanks to the creator of the tutorial.

This is a great tutorial, I saw it in CGTalk and used it to model my first car.
Though it was my first challenge the model shaped up rather good, though I do still suck on texturing, lighting, rendering. Damn I got to learn those.
But I was really thankfull to have this tut. Thanks guys, just wanted to share my feeling with you car geeks, and hope to get the quality you guys make some day.

    Taka-

if you mean how do you cut the edges then:

In 3ds max, there is a menu on the right. When the polygon is converted to an editable poly, then on the menu should be a button which says "Cut". Use this tool to add a new edge to the polygon.

You can also use tools like slice, but I use cut.

    Hope that helps?

Heres my .max file, which you can use. I set up the blueprints in 3ds max 7.

I'm not sure if that is what you are asking for??

you know, if you can't start off that tutorial with the basics, you may have trouble further on...

heres the max file with the very basic mirrored car shape anyway:

    http://www.photomods.com/photomods/nissanbasic.max

Thats up to page 9 of the tutorial.

Yes, It's possible but is a totally different way of modelling.. Maybe slower (depends on your capabilities.. ) but surely much more precise.
