    Hi,
and don't know if I undersatnd your question good...But you want to know how you can see on the front view witch verices belong to the back or to the front ? If it's this question, you can just move forward or backward your plane with the photo on it...and on the front view you will see vertices which are not hidden by the plane...Look at the attachment
I don't know if you undersatand what I mean, and don't know if I answered your questionClick here to enlarge

Gotta say, this is possibly the best tut Ive come across. Ive done another poly 1 but it sucked, then I tried some nurbs tuts but nurbs are to much of a pain to fix mistakes, now if only I could accually model this damn car Id be happy. I worked my way up to page 35-36 and I wanna stop here and get some input b4 I go on and completely screw things up. Any help or crit.(good or bad) is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks again for this tutorial.

    1. I'm new to 3d but here what i have to say
    2. You have to post your wireframe shots unsmoothed. This will help us see where the problems are.
    3. Try to avoid 3 & 5 sided polygons. Reed the tutorial CAREFULLYl and take the time to actuali think about what you're doing not just copy the steps.
    4. You need to put a lot more work before start deataching the parts of the car.
    5. You need to put more edges to get better control over the shape and alighn your edges better in all 4 views becouse they dont look good at all.
    6. I'm not sure is it good or bad that you model diferent car then the car in the tutorial. But if it's your first car it's probably better idea to make the same car so you can compare your mesh with the pics of the tutorial.
    7. You have to be very patient with your work. You won't becom a master over night it needs a lot of work. From your image it dosen't look like you've been patient enough.

BayVan, thank you! Click here to enlarge ...he said all there is to say Click here to enlarge

...you should definitely do the same car like the tutorial before youre goin your own way Click here to enlarge

...also i have to say, i didn't write the tutorial, like you can see in the header, thats why i hardly can say something about it (also cuz i dont do boxmodelling Click here to enlarge )

to get you out of your situation ...you can simply delete out polygon rows to separate the parts, but you also have to devide the objects afterwards to get a serious coordination in your project Click here to enlarge ...i have the optinion, that boxedmodeling is more for advanced users, am i wrong?

    so keep it going!
