    VEHICLE ARTIST/S – Evolution Studios, SCEE – Cheshire, UK (12+ month contract)

    The developers of the highly acclaimed WRC and Motorstorm racing franchises are looking to recruit talented vehicle artists to work with their internal vehicle art team on new and exciting racing projects.

    The role will be offered as a 12 month paid contract initially with the potential of full time employment longer term.

    Candidates should be passionate about cars, motorsport and vehicle design and have a natural ability and talent to accurately reproduce bespoke and licensed vehicle models in detail and efficiently for use in games.

    All work will need to be produced and delivered on-time and to a consistently high standard to satisfy both internal and external first party developer expectations.

    You may also be required to assist the vehicle team lead in a variety of tasks to ensure that very high standards are maintained at both an internal and external level.

    Additional tasks may include assessing work from outsource studios, providing feedback, technical game ready setup work and general bug fixing.

    You must be a flexible, highly motivated and driven individual who is a good team player and take great pride in your work. You should also have a keen eye for detail and seek perfection in the work you produce.



    Essential skills & experience:
    • Maya vehicle modelling skills – an excellent understanding of optimal modelling skills and techniques for games – demonstrating competent high (Sub-d) and medium to low poly modelling skills
    • Ability to model vehicle interiors, mechanical and engine details to a very high standard essential
    • Photoshop knowledge and skills - excellent texturing skills with an applied understanding of creating textures for games essential
    • A thorough understanding of mesh topology and efficient optimisation techniques for games
    • Excellent UVW mapping and unwrapping skills
    • A solid comprehension of vehicle design, shape and form and aesthetics
    • An inquisitive nature regarding mechanical and technical comprehension of vehicles
    • Excellent communication and self-organisational skills
    • A passion for games - especially racing games
    Desirable skills and experience:
    • Previous games development experience and a proven track record in producing vehicles for AAA racing titles on current-gen consoles/ PC highly desirable
    • A solid understanding of the games development process and experience of games export pipelines
    • Previous experience working with and liaising with outsourcing companies
    • Rendering knowledge i.e. Mental Ray, VRay etc.
    This is a rare opportunity to work in-house for a first party studio alongside a highly experienced and driven development team on new and exciting racing game projects.
