cant submit a final render my renders crashed it just stopped at 20% , if it is possible to submit them before the day is over, i will. if not good luuck to the rest of you guys
Final submissions are due by October 29th. Winners will be announced on October 30th. First thru third place winners will receive a PM requesting shipping information for their prize, where applicable.
If i read correctly, the final day you were able to submit was yesterday. Sorry.....
eh...geo u're right...Anyway Younglion submit here ur images, or open a new thread, i would love to see ur renders man! we are about the only two (as i know) usign MR! That's a pity for that crash =( to be sure i gave MR only 7 gb of ram to use instead giving him the opportunity to choose the value by himself, so u can prevent crashes...longer time but more efficience....hope to see ur job ayway! was promising really good!!!!!
There's nothing better than staring at a product you modeled on a screen getting into production and coming to reality.
Use v-ray, much more advance rendering engine, very stable, easy to use I tried mental ray at first, is seems very complicated... and render time is very long.
If any rendering engine crashes to me, i wouldn't use it anymore ever. What good is from render engine witch crashes before ending rendering, i will be so man write now if i were you.... And Briex is right, post your work, we love to see it
well, i don't believe so....MR can be optimized very well but u have to know it very well....i think it's not the problem here...crashes can happen, with every software and rendering engine...just a pity....nothing else

This is not a place for arguing, but you don't even imagine how much v-ray can optimize rendering and whit v-ray you can optimize your scene, check mine, it has 30 million polys, and render very fast and stable :P
yes i know...anyway...that's just a choice...i'm going to learn v-ray too as i've seen for object is much better, but for maya is a plug-in, we'll see if it works =)
