That's my first post on CGCars and i have a question ^^
I unfortunately don't have a good pc, my graphics card is an simple GeForce 6150SE nForce 430, although I don't have money to buy a new one, though I need a new one ;D
The drivers are correctly updated
I'm following an tutorial to make a rim to put in my 350Z, but my viewport in Maya 2011 is in trouble.
I don't have any idea to fix that ='[
Someone can help me ?
Thaanks ;DD
(I don't have a excellent english, but i think that you can understand)

You can't see the faces, only the Edges, when it is selected..
If i unselect this, these faces disappear.
Neither in the render nor in the viewport
and it only happens if I delete any face, use any tools..
This is veery strange..
I think that is not a "viewport" problem, just a problem, because it happens in the render too..

have you re applied the shader? cause many times when i work on a model esp after using the bevel tool i get faces that disappear and i solve it by re applying the shader to the object
That graphic card should do alright for modeling, your problem is laying somewhere else, prolly the faces are flipped in the wrong direction like svdm said.
Are you guessing things?.... you can perfectly see flipped out polies exactly like the others that arent, in maya. They are double sided. There used to be a PREFERENCES option, to use single sided polies. Maybe you messed with that, or even maya did it itself, cause maya is the most bugged thing i have ever seen on the planet. Get used to it....LOL.
What can be is the viewport clipping planes. What u described is a symptom of clipping planes too close or too far to the object. Go to maya HELP, and search for clipping. You ll see there how it can be fixed.Try google too, so u can see other people that had the same problem, and what they say about it.
If it aint a viewport clipping issue then maya doesnt like your graphics card, i bet. Maya hates many many graphics cards. Is your card Nvidia?... I hope it is.If you are using ATI, then it s probably that.
P.S. Maya has a new viewport mode, called viewport 2.0, or something like that.... cant remember now. Try activating that.... maybe it can help.
Cant think of anything else, but i thing it s your graphics card that maya doesnt like, if the clipping stuff didnt solve your problem.
Good luck...i hope u can fix that..... it s very annoying indeed
Come back here, and give us feedback, after you have tried the above suggestions. Ah, make sure your graphics card drivers are up to date and you are using the latest version. Check manufacturers page please.
