    Citroën C4 2008 Hatchback

    Hi cg cars..

This is my very first post, as well as my first car. A citroen C4 2008 model.
It doesn't hold the same flare & glamour as many of the other current project on this forum, i know Click here to enlarge

But I like the design and curves of this model as well as citroen in general since they came out with this car.
Also my father was a mechanic who specialized in this french brand, back when I was still a kid.

I am already fairly far in the process, so I'm showing some different shots and wires.

I have reached a wall with the headlights though, which is a bit frustrating. And I hope you can give some feedback on that, and of course my mesh in general.

I startet this project more than a year ago when I was still a newbie in terms of modeling. So a lot of mesh cleaning has been necessary along the way, which you probably will see Click here to enlarge

    Hi man,

welcome to the forum. You have made some good work there, but the car is pretty bumpy in lots of areas, that's not good, maybe try to clean your mesh, to make it better flowing, it will reduce that bumps Click here to enlarge

And a nice welcome party indeed! Click here to enlarge
    Thanks guys!
And you are right about the mesh bumps. I will start operation mesh cleaning hopefully tonight.

About them headlights, you are partially right Click here to enlarge but the ones on my model were modeled after some of the newer versions.
I'll post some refs when I get home from work.

Old dog, very nice your dad being a mechanic too. In some way it's in your blood right Click here to enlarge

And I have to correct this post... My model is not the 2008, but the 2006 model, very important, since the 2008 has a different frront
    Sorry about that

Here is a test render with simple hdr env & backplate.

Just to test reflections and mesh bumps... It clearly shows the mesh still need some work.

Good Render man Click here to enlarge
You Know I was out tonight and I bumped on the C4 2006 so i took a shot of the headlights .. I'll go tomorrow, wit my cam outside to take some shots of the car that i'm working on ,Yugo, and if i find C4 again I'll make you some 3000+ x **** high resolution ref pictures
EDIT: Dad will take some pictures of that headlight , that's taken out of the car. So tonight I'll give you more info

Basicly I see what more needs to be done on the headlights to make them even more realistic Click here to enlarge So I'll Now try to show that to you Click here to enlarge

The Black Thingy, Used for decreasing the light reflection ...

Red: well by eye i can see that it should go something like that ... and on your model it seems like the middle light is to short I don't know ... may be you could show the side view...

Green ... : There are two separated parts there ... separated by around 4-5mm

I'll tell you more about it later Click here to enlarge

P.S.: Yes I'm a perfectionist :banghead: Everything needs to be perfect :deal:

    That is truly awsome!

Thank you very much!! - Kind of you to share these ref fotos with me. And thank you again for taking your time to
get me ref of the headlights!

I've been searching the ned everywhere for such ref of that headlight. I have refs, indeed, but not anything like this.
I will post my progress this weekend. Have been quite busy this last couple of week.

Will use your illustration to continue modeling the headlights... thank you!

@P2sta thanks man! Working on the bumps Click here to enlarge

You are Welcome mate Click here to enlarge
But If you think those were awesome take a look at this Click here to enlarge
Hope you like them Click here to enlarge

    (EDIT: I'll see what i can do :/ )

Btw I think that the Head-Stop-Lights are the most important at a model they give the most realism,
so make them good Click here to enlarge
Hope to see that updates soon Click here to enlarge

    Cheers !
