    350z_Contest_ShinyG

Hi this is my first post on this forum!
Without further ado here's my ideea. Just a basic photoshop instead of a hand sketch. On the final design I will probably keep the two-tone (orange/gray) paint but ditch the standard (but enlarged) wheels for custom ones (my designs).

And also a few words about this design to avoid further misunderstanding:
    1. I wanted to do something different from the everyday rice design you see all over the internet
    2. This is supposed to be made by a company who modifies cars, not just puts body kits on them. Expect to see radical rotor brake designs, special lights and custom stuff like that....
3 Don't expect to see: big hood-scoops, roof-scoops or any useless "scoop" whatsoever. Vinyls is a no-no also. Also no "wing" spoiler on the rear as the car is supposed to have good underside aerodynamics... A small integrated spoiler is in my mind though...

To sum this up: I really want this to be different....

I hope the modelling won't take too much as I'm currently sudying for my final exams. 3-4 days is not that far-fetched as an estimate.

    Anyway, C&C is very welcome!

thats a cool way of showing off your idea, how did you do that? did you draw it by hand and just scan it and layer it ontop or what? cause its really interesting looking (like a real picture turning into hand sketch)

Just photoshop, I created some aditional layers on top of the photo and drew on those. I also shuld mention I used a Wacom Intuos 2 A4 (9x12 inches). I would have been very hard to draw it "by mouse"...

this looks very interesting. Keep going with this. Although you could do something about that front bumper (middle area)-it looks too basic. And it'll look better if you don't put the stock wheels on it (even enlarged).

    Thanks for the feedback!
I'm in the middle of modeling now and I'm trying to get some decent rims for the car and to add something to that front-end to make it more interesting...
    Soon you'll see some clays!

    One question for theshaddix:
From what I understand I only need clay renders of my car for this contest? No actual "bling-bling" styled renderings are necessary, right?

yes, only clay renders for this contest will do it. The next contest will be all about that bling-bling stuff.

    Still to do:
    -brakes
    -exhausts
    -geometry cleaning
    -parts matching

P.S. To be sincere I'm not quite happy with the way it looks modeling-wise...

man, this one has a lot of potential but the modeling brings it down a little (not precise enough). I like the overall shape of the kit and those huge intakes. The rims could be nicer though.

wow. you got it! very nice design. especially the back is absolutly inovativ innovative .
but the sharp edges to the existing body, make it look like a glued body kit.
letīs see how it is after welding. will you weld it with the other ?

As I've said, they're just WIP clays. I'm curently working on making the kit a "tight-fit". I don't intend to make it an integrated part of the body as the wide-kit is indendet to be painted in a different color from the body. I'll make the rear bumper separate form the rest of the kit to make it look more realistic. Also I'll ad proper air intakes and outlets as these are just inset surfaces now.
These rims were made in a hurry just to see if the car looks good with "deep" rims... I'll make some that will resemble more the ones in the original sketch. I'll decide then what type will be better.
Still a lot of work to be done... And still lot of studying to be done for my next exam on the 8th... It looks that the delivery time will also be a "tight-fit" Click here to enlarge
