Sorry that you can't see anything new from me but in the last days my Kaspersky IS 2010 has incapacitated my System :banghead:
In an update process hung on KIS and destroyed the database and hence some windows files have been broken. Have done everything to make my stands but unfortunately I cant save my Vista. What remains now is to format it. Vista, but I do not touch any more. Now its Win7 time :buttrock:
Good that I still can access my data in the partition where vista is installed. I need to save the data, install windows 7 and install all necessary programs again. that will take a while until I can feed you with updates
That IS really smooth! Your modeling skills are improving by the post - very impressive!
Sorry to hear about your computer problems, it seems that it is just part of our lives as cg artists. Not as straight forward as a paint brush, but way more satisfying
I had no more pleasure on details, so i went back to the car to work on basemesh.

Hi jaystyle, I've a few question about the lighting and the materials and modeling, and the render motor you use. How do you adjust the lights according to the picture you have in the background? And the carpaint parameters, how do you adjust them? Which render motor is more suitable for vehicle rendering?
How do you model those komplex headlights and tire and rims and so on?
ps. Please excuse my inquisitiveness.
Regards.

a very sad short film :o.... please take a look at this:

- How do you adjust the lights according to the picture you have in the background? You mean the HDRI renderings?
- For the Carpaint shader i suggest you the Tutorial from DaveCox. A very good knowledge base for carpaint shader. After you read this, look in here
- On the engine, I can not tell you much. I use Vray, cuz i've always seen good and heard about it. You can create very realistic images in a very short time - It is essential, of course, how well one knows about it already. Vray is also known for his quickness.
Thank you very much for the explanation jaystyle. Yes, you've got the point, that is was I mean, how do you adjust HDRI settings? I think it is related with lighting but I don't know exacty.
And I should point out that I haven't ever seen a helpful person like you, thank you very, very much!
ps. by the way, what does f10 mean? you know bmw 5 f10 or bmw 7 f10....
Regards.

For HDRI-based scenes:
- I highly recommend to all this page
- There's a lot of very helpful (video) tutorials for everyone
- Alyx, if you are using Vray, there is also a very great Tutorial for scenes with HDRI
