    Breden's misc projects

    Hey guys!

I thought i could show u a bit of my engine project... For now I try to keep it a secret what engine i'm modelling for as long as possible Click here to enlarge Dunno why but it's always fun with some teasing Click here to enlarge

But all parts isn't modelled after real life pictures, some are from my own head and some i have reference for. And just specular clays atm cuz i wanna modell everything first.

looks pretty smooth and slick, Piston Arm looks massive though, but since I don't know what engine it is (turbocharged swedish engine =S) can't say much, but its the first time I've seen a piston arm that wide. One other thing is that everythign seems to fit perfectly, almost too perfectly =p like to a millionth degree accuracy, so unless its a racecar engine, it shouldn't be but thats just me being nitpicky.

Any chance to show some wires?

Man, i didn't hope for this kind of respone, thanks guys! Click here to enlarge

@Davecox; Well, I modeled the connecting rods after a swedish manufacturer (Auto Verdi). That's why it's a MiS stamp on it.. And yet i dunno what car to put it in..

@Pan3sar; I think it's pretty close actually to my reference, maybe a little wide but i'll check it up! And yea, engines are built with clearence down to 1/100 sometimes so it needs to fit good.. But actually i tried to not make it to perfect, cuz some parts needs a little gap etc. Click here to enlarge

And wires, these are not very good.. But sometimes u have to cheat to get a good mesh or w/e, atleast it works Click here to enlarge
If u wanna see wires of anything specific, just write it! And u'll probably see what parts that are still in wip...

    Hy and wellcome to cg-cars.com

this is some really nice work u present here. i specially like that u do not rely on any smooth operator to get to the correct shape but u have allready correct shapes in the rough meshes.

    keep it up that way

yeah wires look good, agree with lookdown, its good to see you don't depend on the smooth modifier.

@Lookdown: Thanks! And yes i'm trying the best i can to do as when u're modeling a car.. To get a little denser mesh and then to make it smooth out properly with a iteration of 2 (1 one some parts). Cuz it's impossible to modell engine parts if u rely on the smooth operator and get details on it, i tried that as a newb with highpoly parts.. Click here to enlarge

And forgot a smoothed pic at the ic, tho i still have some problems on the top (ic to intake). It doesn't smooth as i want, but i'll try to fix it Click here to enlarge
