    well, actually the construction process is not the same, so result is not the same.
    in ast the boundary condition (position or curvature) are taken into account when building the surface
    in rhino by using match after the construction, you modify the surface for one edge at a time - maybe depending on the order of matching, you won't necessarely get the same thing...hmmm

    can you share your files (in native wire and 3dm format) ?

    thx

    It should also be noted that the curves were drawn completely in rhino...i exported the curves from rhino to AST through OBJ format. I have enclosed all the files. Please let me know if it doesnt work...

    well i didn't think of that mesh quality issu...true that rhino one is often low by default compared to defaut AST one....

    No. Its not a mesh issue. @Oxydo : i get the same result too...

    The Zebra which i posted previously was of the surfaces created by Network surface Command.

    The model which i shared with u has surfaces done using Edge surface Command.

    Even though the edge surface command produces a much more desirable Zebra map, we can still see the bumps on the surfaces....(hope i am right ?)

    uranium, surfaces are fine for me both in ast and Rhino.

    so the problem is that network and edge command doesn't give the same result right ? then use edge command at all times.

    @uranium
    well, i'm really glad that i pushed your feelings about nurbs with my gtr thread even if i'm myself a begginer in the "art" of AST.
    Glad that you got the point of single span surfaces but always remember, good curves give good surfaces so pay attention to that. You'll get the point while practicing and practicing. I did surfaces of dozen times, it's becoming verry pissing off but in the end you get the much expected satisfactionClick here to enlarge

    And as many others i have some problems with some surface creation. Maybe some of the elders in the art of AST may help me somehow:

    Thanks to everyone for your constant motivation and quick response to my queries...Click here to enlarge

    In rhino when using match surface, how to prevent the already matched edge of the surface from moving while matching the adjacent edge with another surface ?

    For Eg, look at the attachment below...there are 4 surfaces ( diff. colours) and the curves (white Lines ). The curves are all continuous and the surfaces were created using edge surf command. now, i want the surfaces to be curvature continuous with each other, like the curves. so how to match them now ?
