Since everyones been buggin me about the headlights. Heres a quick tutorial on how to make them.
First off make one omni light and take it to where the headlight bulb is going to be. Make it a bright blueish color.(xenon)
Now make a new material. Make it a blueish color with luminance (hint: make a fresenel channel and make hte inside color white and outside blue.). This will be the actual material for the lightbulb. Drop it on the bulb object you've modeled and right click on it and chose a compositing tag. Select the composition tag and UNcheck the cast shadows check box.
Go back to your light object and select soft shadows. Area shadows will look 100 times better but it will take alot longer to render.
Repeat the process for the other light.
Now copy both fo the lights and move it to the other side. (Cant use symmetry on liights)
Select the blue lights now and go to the lens tab.
Chose hi-8 and make it 40%
Now chose the non xenon lights and select hi-8 with 40% and go to edit. Change the color to a yellowish collor.
Scale the lens effect to your desirable size.
The angle of hte camera will effect the lens effect so rotate around the car to see the best results.
Play around with the options. Heres what I got.
Render time is 30 seconds without GI. Turn on GI and see the magic happen![]()
