For me is was very interesting to see the Max daylightsystem really works. I used the correct settings for day/hour/compass/location and the shadow matches exactly the one of the reference car in the background.

    cheers

realy good work, the only thing that i would put is a bit of motion blur to do softer the movie, because in some parts of the shot looks like the camera breaks a bit (very realistic but it doesn't fix with the car), for the quickly moving of the camera that wasn't catched by the camera tracker.
however it looks very realistic, and what i'm telling you is a point of taste
P.S.:how much time did the render take?
    Regards, saludos

You can get them in most garden centres - gazing globes. http://www.wyrdology.com/other/gazing-balls.html

    http://www.primrose-london.co.uk/adv...quick_search=1

Though they are not very smooth (like a golf ball), so if you have a lot of regular geometry to reflect are not the best solution.

Another way is with big chrome steel bal bearings. Heavy but much smoother - have a look on e-bay.

Alternatively get a 180 degree fish-eye lense Click here to enlarge I did Click here to enlarge

i was thinking of a fish eye lens for my dslr ( a nikon af-s 12mm ) but that a bit expensive, i'd rather go thea cheaper way, i already check about gazing globes and ball bearing, but i was really looking for something like the picture shows, with a support like a tripod or something.

guess i'll need some tweak to get the same stuff.

i remember reading somewhere about someone essentially spray-painting a sphere. i know they sell chrome spray paint at most home centers here. maybe that would work?

i think painting can't be as precise as a chrome sphere, the single bump can fake reflections.

true dat, i'm just saying that it's possible. it definitely wouldn't be the highest quality job.
