Well, it is true what Petter said that lot of reality comes from detailed model itself. However, I think you didn't change U value for tailing of hdri to -1.

i have a litle problem with the matte plane under the car, when I aplly matte setting in vray properties, then it is not visible on the render, but i can see the plane in reflections on the car, but when i make it invisible for reflections/refractions in object properties, then it is ok, but shadows that are on the plane are not visible in the reflections tooClick here to enlarge how do you guys would fix it?

You can't, matter shadows won't show up in reflections with vray. I usualy take a screen shot of the car from the top, make a black and white mask with it, and blurs it, and then puts it under the car so there is some black that it can reflect.

ok, I was not sure how you mean it, sorry

I apllied a asphalt texture on the plane and let it be in reflections and here is the result. Front still have wrong reflections and highlights on roof and hood are too bright, but it the shadows are ok, I hope

I think he rendered just car top view or print screened it... made a mask in PS (or put black mat material on car) and used it as shadow... or @ least I would do like that.

... and yes, front chrome part of grill have bad reflection. Maybe use lower glossiness at material.

yeah, I think I get it, I was thinking Thomas has a photo of the car from top and he use it, but after that I recognized, that take a top render is the right solution. Imo it will be better to hide the car to camera, and render only the shadows, then put them on the ground plane with alpha mask. will try it for next render

Yeah, the car is very small. Also the backplate your using is one of the tall ones in portrait format that you have scaled out so it's wide, which makes it look very weird. But materials looks nice, especially on the blue car.

Rotation of the hdri is wrong though, the reflections from the sun is a the wrong place.
