i've decided to give it a second life, and i am reskining it - It's being done in Alias Studio this time (the first one was made with Rhino)
the design has been modified mainly in the front bumper, rims, headlights, rearlights and rear bumper. a chrome waterjet and a spoiler have been added, and maybe i'll need a new rearview mirror.
But i kept none of the old surfacing work, as it was very far from class A quality - Now it's still not perfect class A, but it's better with G2 connections on the whole bodywork.
engine model will be kept, as will be interior - maybe i'll do new seats only.
Preview renderings are done with HyperShot and i think the software is pretty cool to get quick rough studio renderings with real time computed radiosity, reflections and glossiness...
Target of the project is to achieve High quality modeling with full details, and high quality rendering with doors opened (which will force me to imagine a crazy opening system for the doors - maybe something like that : http://www.netcarshow.com/renault/20...llpaper_12.htm)
i loved the old one and i love the new one
i´m going to to watch this one closely and try to learn some things coz my nurbs car project will be coming.
nice to see some work from you TRK, I like the design, only I don't like too much the hood, but it is personal opinion, so it is ok. So keep working and waiting to see some renders soon
Having tried to learn alias studio once I certainly respect anyone that can build an entire car in it. Ill watch this thread too, maybe ill learn something I hope .
oooooh what else would you expect from one of the three nurbs gods on this forum (although snexc has been quite) waiting for better renders (not ones where the car looks like a toy) like always, the model is great!!
Regards,
NFSC

i'm using AST now cos that's the tool we use at work - But nurbs is nurbs - i'm more used to ast now than Rhino but the result could be the same...
well, about your dislikes of the front - i agree that the proportions are a bit too bugatti like, but it was the purpose at first to build a bugatti. The headlights are vertical which is different from the veyron, but giving another shape to air intake is a bit difficult with the Bugatti shaped central one.
Anyway i played a bit with photoshop and below are a few proposal. Tell me what you think - I myself like the last one, but its not that far from the original one...
