    Results

In anticipation of some results trickling through, I thought I'd start a new thread as a sort of therapy in the event of another theatrical selection process.

Today is 2nd of August. Should I assume that the selected 30 have been informed by now? Any of you got picked? Looks like my entry made their bin :-( Ok back to my job as head waiter at Burger King. Closest I will get to the French award will be when I eat French fries tonight :-(

I'm still holding onto a shred of hope...

    From This website:
"From 25 July to 31 July, the jury will select thirty projects to be voted for by internet users... "

    From Peugeot:
"The authors of these 30 selected designs will receive from PEUGEOT, a letter with an obligation of assignment of the copyright of their design..."

The letter could still be in the post!! :deal:
    Don't give up hope.
We could still torture ourselves a few more days.

I would have thought that they would e-mail straight away the 30 who got selected. I mean what if the post gets lost? It better be a registered letter. I will hold on to the .1% hope until Tuesday.

I've got a theory on the controversial selections.
As I see it they have to put in the more abstract entries as well because it's a sort of market research exercise for them.

They have to put out a broad spectrum of ideas and shapes to get a good representation of what people think is good design.

For all they know, the rest of the world might be craving for a bolt shaped car, but if it doesn't make it into the voting, then they'll never know.

Just a theory. I think it's more a market research and brand awareness exercise than a design competition. Try to get as many as people as possible to take an interest in the peugeot brand.
I haven't fallen in love with the brand yet, but that could change if I can get hold of a certain letter...

eduardgray: I agree with what you said, but i think the main reason behind the majority of bad and completely outrageous entries chosen in the competitions previously, could mean that they select the entry that they plan to build before hand. And after match the rest of the entries that are lesser in design value and quality so that the general public would vote for the one they want...I can see why they are doing this, they need something special to show at the Peugeot booth stand in the auto shows, because to be honest their cars aren't the best of show...so they need some advertisement in form of future concepts to wow and attract the crowd...on the other hand we can all be wrong, maybe they just pull entries out of a hat?

Still waiting on the letter thought, put a month into my project...so lets still hope for couple more days.

Interesting theory, if not on the skeptical side.
Hope your letterbox has something in it today. I'm fearing mine will be empty again.

I'm still curious about what others have sent in. Can't people start posting their projects soon? Is there a strategy in keeping it secret?

If I don't get it by tomorrow then I will be changing the logo on the cars from Peugeot Lion to Ferrari horse LOL Peugeot ain't getting publicity from me for free! 3 straight nights for what? Grrr! I will win it next year LOL

instead of pulling those conspiration theories out of thin air, why don't you just assume your design wasn't that good in first place and try harder next time?

Every competition has it politics, I've seen some good designs turned down to gutter...i think there was one bloke here who had a nice entry but didn't make the cut. In this world you need to know the right people and have the right connections to "make" it. :clown:
