1- Just to be sure the deadline for submissions is 20th of July. Correct? Just want to be sure in case I read it wrong or misunderstood something. :deal:
2- "Peugeot wishes to encourage young talent". On their website and pdf they seem to mention "young designer" a lot. Does that mean if you are in your 30s or more then you are history as far as this competition is concerned?

Thanks and hello
1- yes, it is 20th of July. Check the time zone though.
2- As for "young designer", I don't think you have anything to worry about until you are 60. Basically it is there to encourage fresh ideas from the newer generation, instead of the designs from those 50 year old design veterans.

Thanks for the answer
I wonder what your answer will be when I become 50 in 20+ years time :buttrock:
lol, if you're still entering in 20 years and there's a section on this forum we can worry about it then (don't post here, digging up 20 year old threads is highly discouraged). anyhow, good luck this time.
I am telling you guys that I am going to win it this year and for the next 20 years :buttrock: I will make so much money$$$ of Peugeot that they will ban me from entering the competition.
Ok back to modeling and bit less day dreaming :banghead:
lol, nothing wrong with confidence but if you were serious i'd call you crazy (especially in the peugeot competition where the losers get more respect) anyhow, that cracked me up so +1 to you:buttrock:

You just jealous cause I will be minting $$$s thanks to begin a champ My retirement fund will be all sorted (Euro10,000 x 20 times YES). If I don't win then I will still be a winner as loser get more respect LOL This is a win win situation. Anyway keep your eye out for a car that looks like a gonad. That would be champ's entry :deal:
I am just a clown Seriously though last year's winner was ok. Think you not don't? His car did remind me a lot of another concept car that I had seen...
I am a donkey and you are just a little puppy. Know your place doggy Are you finished? I think I will go down to the wire :banghead:
I may be a puppy, but I am a Purple Puppy. That is far superior. Meanwhile, a donkey is merely an Equus asinus.
Anyhow, I have prepared around 4 pictures for submission so far as well as a 980-word description (in which I detailed each one of my many innovations as briefly as possible) and an animation. The animation, unfortunately, is very short. But I don't feel like rendering long animations...
Maybe I should render a fifth picture to take advantage of the fact that Peugeot allows up to five pictures.
I made my model in NURBS using Rhino. The result: A model that is sufficiently detailed, while being smooth and free from pinches, bumps, creases, uneven surfaces, and other unwanted artifacts.
I also rendered my model in VRay.
Ok I don't have an animation as it was not mandatory. I know the jpgs have to be under 500Kb but what kind of dimension did you go for? 1600 x 1200 is what I might go for. Any advice puppy?
Favorite car brand? Is that a trick question from Peugeot?
Note to self-
The Internet user must enter his or her registration form before 20 July 2008, 12:00 hrs GMT (Greenwich Mean Time), to which he or she must attach the design files, the explanation of the concept and, if necessary, the video/animation showcasing the design.

The JPGS can be whatever dimension as long as they are under 500 kb. I have a few 2560x1600 pictures and the rest are 1920x1200. I can't remember if it was 3 of 2560 and 2 of 1920 or the other way around. But anyway my pictures are generally rather big, and I always save it (using photoshop) at a quality of 8 or 9 which is the sweet spot between large file sizes and lossy quality.
As for favorite car brand, you may want to seek advice from the previous winner of the competition.
