hy looks real nice. :buttrock:
i allways wonder for these clean meshes at ST. is it hard to learn? ist there a demo or a trail version? what about tutorials.
thx guys fir comments...still slow progression....but exterior modelling is mostly done, with 90% of the fileting work. Currently working on the rims...(hopelessly looking for the polar array function :banghead: ...)
@legolaz, lil offtopic here : the blendsrf exist in AST....its the freeform filet command....actually it let you choose several edge for one side (yellow) then the edge for the other side (pink)...saved me some hours of work
TRK, i know you have a good knowledge about nurbs.. "mathimatical objects" software, like rhino.. and now StudioTools.. BUT How did you learnt the basic from studiotools, with tutorials, if yes... wich tutorials and where??? :clown: And what version do you use? (you may pm with that, if you dont wanna say it here, ...)
Many thanks
Yes! I'm also quite curious about how you learned to model so beautiful.
But i guess you have seen advanced tutorials aswell, cus the basic tutorials can't be enough to model such complex surfaces like your car, or can it?
hey saba, welcome in here !
yeah i decided to learn ST cos it's used in the Automotive industry...so it's good for my resumé...:P
What's good in AST is :
- the history (that Rhino doesn't have yet, waiting for 4.0 release )
- the fact that fillets or special surfaces won't be built if everything's not perfect...could be seen as a disadvantage but it forces you to be as accurate as possible
- The build-in functions to do car seams automaticaly for example...save a lot of time
- The ability to sketch behind or even on your surfaces (with all types of brush you can find in Photoshop )
- ...and maybe a lot of things i didn't discover yet
@JimSandberg : I learned in Rhino and the concepts in StudioTools are pretty much the same...just needed time to find commands and key and mouse shortcuts ...There arn't any tutorial that I know on StudioTools...
@swips/soad/Checker2k3 : The tutorial i made about Rhino (in my sign, working now for the pdf version in english or french) is a good start for learning nurbs concepts...and i'm not sure that a tutorial on AST would be useful...the UI is a thing that has to be learn by itself...
same here, hearing it makes me wanna learn that. but the same was with max, someone told me it was better than zmod, so i moved. then rhino is better than max, so i moved i think it depends on the user, not the software(as long as not comparing zmod to anything)
