    Vray for Maya 2008 RAM Limit

    Okay, so I got Vray for Maya 2008 and I have run into a bit of a ditch, When I try to render a scene of an Audi TT I modeled with polygons, then Subdivided before converting to polygons, with Materials added, Vray runs out of RAM, I tried rendering at a resolution of 700x700, Is there anyway I can get the RAM usage limit set to around 1.7GB?? I have 2GB of DDR2, and 1.7GB is the usual amount I set mental ray to....So anybody have any idea??

    I already tried :search: on google and couldn't find anything to do with vray on maya 2008...:banghead:

    This is what the error said:
    // Error: Exception [module=1] : Memory allocation failure; 1040000 bytes requested; 292015001 bytes already in heap; 5101792 bytes free heap space.
    //
    // Error: There was a fatal error rendering the scene.

    Any Idea how to resolve this issue??? I'm a little desperate.....

    P.S. If you want any specific screenshots, just ask.....

    i dont know Vray with maya, but its what i would do with max, and i assume its mainly the same than in max.
    you have few possibilities.
    in the system panel for the vray rendering, you can set the amount of RAM, and put it to dynamic. should help.
    second, lower your subdivision, for sure too many polys for your system! Click here to enlarge
    and you can use proxy, who will help you a lot for the RAM process.
    hope that can help a little.
