    Formula Concept

Recently an interest for old formula cars have grown in me so i thought i would make a modern day concept of an old formula car.

Think open wheel, singelseater, coupe. Loads of detail showing such as suspension, manifold, exhaust pipes etc. All this on a modern day body. A mix between old and new formula cars maybe.

Here is how far i have come. Just scribbling down ideas in photoshop.

Please write down any thoughts and ideas you come up with !

its more of a concept hotrod, than f1 car. I mean F1 cars never had roofs, I dont know its a nice concept, but F1 concept, I think not

I agree with you, it looks more like a hotrod right now. But its not meant to be a F1 concept.
It is meant to be a modern version of old formula cars. I made it coupe because i like the idea of a single seater with roof. Not often do you see that Click here to enlarge But yes it is a hot rod in the sense that it has a roof which formula cars doesnt.
But this is a concept so anything goes !

I think this is a great concept and has lots of room for potential and interpretation.

    Good luck!

worked just a little bit more on the picture shown before. Looked at inspiration from fighter jets and tried to nail the old school feeling a little better.

Well, I still see lines from hotrod's rather than an old F1 car, its too tall to be a modern ontake on an old F1 car, but yeah your decision, looks good fro now, although why is the end elevation look like the part where the body is, will be super thin,

Yes its kind of hard to get away from the hotrod feeling when you only see the car from the side. And i dont know what kind of F1 cars you think about but i mean these.

So i have actually started this in 3d now. Concept changed a little bit to something like this.

Havent planed a top view or anything, just want to start shaping it in 3d. Here is a first pic of that.

As you can see in the concept, alot is common with the bmw z4. I might make this a single seater bmw racecar of some sort.
