    thanks guys

@rodder - man that paint is actually a hard task lol really hard to get the right look, but im getting there, will show it soon.

@mikornr - hmmm..... not sure if I actually want to pursue 3d as a career but lol, master? I don't think so hehe I have a lot of work to get anywhere near there - also my patience is not amazing so I end up rushing through parts of models anyways right now I only do it as a hobby inbetween study breaks.

Anyways made some fixes, made brakes although they are very innacurate so I will be remaking them, and made the mesh grill at the rear under the tail lights.

Polies are getting a bit outta hand :|

the edges around the front grille aren't accurate but otherwise it's looking good (check some refs on it, otherwise i'll show you online). if you want to save polies, make a 1980s volvo (no offense meant, i like those cars).

about the paint: maybe it's just me but the pic you showed me looked like candy paint. i've been trying to recreate it in cg for years but it's really hard. in some kind of blend material maybe? what they probably did was have a silver basecoat and then like 10 layers of translucent paint with the final colour (is it still a secret?).

    regards,
    rodder

wooohooo!!! made advanced section for the first time, thanks guys...hey this isnt an April fool's joke is it?:clown:

hmm....could you point out, which part exactly? A volvo? A VOLVO! :o horrible cars :clown: but meh, did clay renders in 3 mins, not too bad, so I guess my comp can handle it, and viewports arent lagging yet...
Tha Paint - I think you might have caught onto something man, I have tried it out alittle and it is much closer to what I had, man. Just needs some tweaks, and an environment to reflect.

did some more work on the engine bay, although little it is, remade the calipers, and made the front edge sharper

you made this section a couple days ago so it wasn't a prank (although i could move you back to beginner if that would be found funny). in the latest pic the frontend looks right. in a previous one something seemed fishy. good to see you're getting the paint. i posted some render tests of the difference back in my "sled" thread but it wasn't well developed.

    regards,
    rodder
