    Lamborghini Murcielago

    Hello,

I joined this forum some time ago, but this is my first post Click here to enlarge I was looking on the all works in here and finally I decided to create my car. I am a beginner in 3d world, but I try to do my best. I am modeling Lamborghini Murcielago and so far I finished woks on the front of the car. I attach two files - one render and one viewport screen. It is my second model and I am doing it using a tutorial, but anyway I would like to hear some comments from all of you.

    Regards,

    xaoo

you can repair that n-gon and the 3 sided poly near it by simply cutting a line through the middle of the n-gon to the middle segment between n-gon and tri:P

it's even simplyer that it seems :P

actually petter, i just noticed your solution would still leave a massive tri on the front bumper. but yes, that's why we have the edit button.

Welcome after short break. I have made some small update to the model. I worked on the side of the car. Mainly on the doors and the area under them. I hope you like it Click here to enlarge

    Regards,

    xaoo

    P.S.

@rodderworld and petter - I modified the place you were talking about. I did it in a slightly different way and I still have 5-gon, but as I looked on the render and this 5-gon has no influence on the mesh.

    Hello,

After a short break it's time to show the next steps on the car. I admit that work wasn't easy and I sill have problems with area near the glass which I show in attachment. Corners are not exactly round. I would like to ask you for an advice. What should I do exactly? Can I just do few cuts and not care at all about the n-gons that will be created? Or should I do it in smarter and planned way? Please help.

    Thank you for any advice.

    Kind regards,

    xaoo

The model is looking really great so far. I have a question for you though if you don't mind. I'm curious how you get such a sharp corner in the back outer corner of the headlight area. It looks like you don't have any topology there to keep the corner sharp. Here's the area I'm referring to:

@lakcaj - i marked the topology of that corner for you on a screen. The main shape of the light is a grid which i adjusted as the red line on the screen shows. Then i marked edges numbered 1, 2 and 3 and used a chamfer modifier. I set it on 0,1 to get sharp edge and that is all Click here to enlarge

@rodderworld - and what about the other corners - top and the bottom on the right side? Should I do the same? If yes then please tell me if i should make a local cut or make a line like you showed?

Thanks so much for the great replies. I suspected xaoo might be using a chamfer to that created ngons, which is the way I think I'd do it except that my modelling app doesn't support ngons. I'm greatful for rodderworld's suggestion too, as this is something I can easily accomplish in my modelling app (blender). I can finally stop pulling my hair out (for at least a day or two) Click here to enlarge

Again, thanks so much for sharing your knowledge.

    Hello,

It took me some time to work on the Lambo, but I have some new update. Recently I work on the back of the car and the engine hood. On one of the renders I marked problematic places. I would like to ask you for help:

1 - I will not pay that much attention to this place, because anyway it will be covered by a grill.
2 - this place is quite problematic. I did chamfer on the top edge and on the other sides but there are still some problems :/ Anyone has some ideas how to solve it?
3 - place looks nicer than place 2 but it is the same problem.
4 - here few edges get together and somehow vertex is going up when I turn on the mesh smooth. Any ideas?

Thank you for all the advice and comments,

    Kind regards,

    xaoo
