    Concept Smoke 2008

After a little test ([ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SskWOLqMLEQ[/ame]), me and a friend did last summer, we're going further with it, doing a full 3 to 4 min short cg film.A interstate chase, between a rx8, a 69 charger and a 2009 camaro and the highway patrol.

We seriously started a month ago with the storyboard , still working on it, and in the meanwhile modeling everything we need.
It isn't going too fast but little by little we're getting there.

Now we got to traffic cars modeling.Of course lowpoly, each around 20-30.000 faces.

    hey it's pretty good,

the only thing i have to critic is the first brake which is unreal compared to the speed the car is at, even porsche can't break that hard lol

btw are you using fume fx for the smoke ?

and how did you do the rubber following the wheel on the road?

i got something similar to do for my animation will help a lot Click here to enlarge

    thanks.

-it should have been bullet time
-we used particle flow and afterburn
-just a plane with pathdeform, not very realistic, we will have to figure out something better

A vray lighting and textures test

I wonder how you will handle vehicle animation :]

and how much time you are planning to render one frame?

What resolution and fps final video is going to have?

How you are going to render it, netrender?

-we will both animate different scenes using classic keyframes and for most of the traffic pathconstrain
-we're planing to render in passes, around 10-15 waiting to be composited, and the overall time could be between 10min and 1h depending on the complexity. On a 20 min average about 2 months of night render.
    -800x400 and 25fps
-each of us will render different cameras and passes

    Old but not dead.
Haven't done much in the meanwhile, but were getting there.
Oh yeah and there's a 75% chance of using the cinema scope format 1280x544-24fps-sound 5.1 .
