I know, i'm not modeling all the invisible parts. (you mean those bolts on the disc?)
They're barely visible, but visible nonetheless and make a difference in the final result.

Good job ORB. Can u share with us what's your technique on body modeling? U are using loft, or making surfaces with sweep tools, networksrf etc. and then moving the control points to make a more accurate surface? Click here to enlarge

Not much progress but its a start.
Finding out that the prints are off by miles so I have to match the shapes against photos.

@Cayn: Mostly I use loft surfaces. I create curves with the minimal necessary amount of control points and build lofts out of them.
I use sweeps and networksrf for filleting, blending etc.

in this site there are a lot of talented modelers..i do not understand .. why modeling cars that exsists??!!,trying to model those cars as closer to real..Whynot modeling cars prototypes , something new, unseened before..gathering talent skills in modeling exsisting cars and using tham to do something that exsists nowere..prototypes are the illumination that comes from your minde and become real in your "computer"..so, you can say,i done something that others can't do..
doing cars ěs the way to tell your skills in modeling rendering.
doing prototypes is the way to tell your fantazy mixed with talent skills..
    ......sorry for loooong reply:banghead:

@ORB, what a interesting work flow... so are you saying you have been using loft on all cars you modeled such Benz 500SLK, Carrera GT and etc?, How did you just handle continunity of lined up curves in order to make loft surface? i.e. starting with hood, smaller curve to bigger (Hope you understand what I mean).

Lastly, based on what you said, you used picture instead of blue print, clarify that for me, did you actually create surface based on perspective? If so, oh boy you re true amazing.

@Raptorvs... IMO Modeling exist cars is much easier and peace of mind for everyone since they can simply follow the trace of blueprint.

Based on my experience, when I model Cadillac Eldorado concept, It was really PITA, i had to make so many plans, come up with many idea, even sometimes alter it, so it was too much hassle which I am sure none of modelers want to deal with.

But yes, I agree with you, it would be nice for everyone to just model their own prototype sometimes. Click here to enlarge

    Sorry for off topic.

And good surfacing techniques are best learned from existing cars. Click here to enlarge

Interesting to see how everything is working out ORB. Very tough job here.

If you do it piece by piece like that then how do you make your surfaces flow? Excelent progress so far:buttrock:
