    VW Golf Mk.2

    Hi guys,

not sure what WIP-forum is the correct one, so I post this here. Iīm trying my hands on a VW Golf Mk.2. Modelling is almost finished, I just need the brakes, springs, seat belts and the inner cover of the roof. Currently Iīm texturing the car. Modelling took about 24hrs until now, texturing about 3hrs. Hope you like it.

Thanks guys. Interieur looks a bit empty, yeah. I havenīt set up a proper glass material for finalrender (my renderer) yet so the light inside is pretty ppor. besides that I rendered with low quality skylight and a few spot lights. Doorpanels and stuff is modelled though, although only medium quality. The look will change nevertheless of course. =) Thanks for the "Schiebung". Click here to enlarge

Oh no, the plastic is not textured yet. All thatīs textured is the red stuff and the license plate. The plate has its bump map, though the skylight gives no specular highlights (and so hides the bump). Iīll post a better picture with the next update. =)

Aaaaalright, after finally finishing my moving (Umzug) and getting back online I get back to work. Textures are reworked a bit and I started working on the plastic parts. Though I wanted to create texture maps for everything (to make a conversion to other packages easier) I couldnīt resist using the Vertex Paint feature. Itīs so damn nice and easy to paint the dirt without the hassle of unwrapping everything or fiddle around with dozens of MatIDs.
This is the most recent state:

Iīm not satisfied with the spec highlights of the side-protections, though Iīm tired atm. Textures of tires and rims are definitly temporary, they will change soon.

    Hi there,

Thanks guys. The head lights are not supposed to be broken, though the bump map IS a bit strange. I worked a little bit on it, let me know if it still looks strange. I do not have MSN or whatsoever, sorry.

I worked a bit more on the textures, here are the most recent results:

Thanks guys. The back is still too plane? I wasnīt sure myself, I already deformed it a bit with FFD, no problem to deform it a bit more. Will be done in the next update. And the exhaust pipe will be a bit bigger. Click here to enlarge
The updates are mostly the wheels, the windows (though thatīs a bit hard to see, their appearance changes from one point of view to the other) and the bump maps for the car paint.

There are a few changes: the back is deformed a bit more, the tail lights material is better and the turning lights in the front are textured. Itīs hard to work on it, the job is way too much at the moment... =/
