i need some help on my materials/scene studio/rendering setup/etc ... please
i did this car 4 my college final exam some time ago, my pc is old and whole scene is quite "heavy" (lots of geometry) so i need 2 simplify (materials/some geometry/etc) 2 be able 2 render it in size 1000x700 mm (about 6000x4000 pixels - 150 dpi) for presentation posters ... so it's looks NOT FINE 4 me, but i have no choice, i have 2 do that somehow but now ...
i need 2 improve my work (i don't have to print my renders in that quite big size, all i need is 1280x1024 PERFECT images) i need this as a prev 4 my college website, so please ...
here's my bigger (older without simplifing procedure) renders + clay
i use max8/9 & mental ray, but i could use brazil or v-ray ... but i NEED 2 GET that kind of effect PLEASE
about render, you need to make a studio set up. HDRI in environment will not make possible to get some cute reflections on a car. Try to tweak with position of the lights and reflectivity of your body. I don't even turn on GI in my renders coz i prefer to reorgonize the studio physically, so its hard to imagine that in real studio they have sky
thanks 4 replay & ur tips ... & u r right ... sun in studio ? never think about it that way ...
... sooo i "play" with my studio scene for a while, but i think that my problem is that my (studio) "materials" r not so good as (4 example) urs ... mine r just wrong/incorrect/etc
i mean i have "studio" with quite nice backgroud (gradient ramp with colours i chose) & it's ql 4 me, but now ... how 2 light my scene like in real studio ? i try some planes with output in diffuse channel 2 get bright reflections on my paint/windows/chrome/etc. & it's looks so-so NOT like in studio ... i would like 2 get some soft (gradient) light reflections ... so i try gradient ramp + output + planes but i have 2 f...cked up sthn' because i got something like u see on first 4 prevs there's no soft transition between tons/hue/shades ...
i will try ttombo's "great studio setup" instead of my "gradient planes" ... maybe i got sthn' what i'm lookin' 4 ...
thanks again legolaz 4 ur reply & help ... by the way I LOVE UR AUDI ... really PRO WORK 4 me, congratulation ... U R THE MAN ... only oooh & aaah BEAUTIFUL WORK ... on opel of course 2
i saw that audi ("the front one" image) some time ago & i thought it's from official commercial/folder or sthn' like that ... WOW
ok, i'm appreciate 4 ur comments & i count on u if i still have some problems thank u very much
hi there ...
yes simon i designed this car 2 it's almost "FULL CAR" model (i mean there's no engine & trunk interior "only" just because my pc is OLD) ... i like this car, but NOW i would change some parts/elements but not conception ... definitely i would like 2 make higher bore NOW (i mean whole chassis is 2 close of the ground) rest is OK ... and 5 arm rims instead of 4
yeah ... first time when i saw that audi ("the front one" image) some time ago i thought it's OFFICIAL it's loks like real photo ... & this side view is exactly the same PRO WORK
well i guess anyway the studio lighting must have plane lightin.. like plane with self illum (vraylight)
heres a test of studio:
& NOW U ... MASTER ...
this side view render is AWESOME ... just that what i need ... BEAUTIFUL i wish i were u man, u have skills & tallent ... & i appreciate ur help & that u r sharring ur knowledge
so ... here's smthn' what i got when i comply 2 urz advices ...
& i have some question about that ur last post (with audi side render) ... u use LIGHT SOURCE directed on "back wall" & that what we see @ the background plane is just reflection, right ? ... i get similar effect by assigning gradient ramp (with my colors) 2 my back plane & it's work fine, but i try smthn' like u got ... if i'm not wrong od course ...
how get u these soft reflection on car side ? the same way as on the background ? but u placed another plane on the other side of the car ? ... that's what i do 2 get similar effect & it's work 4 me ... if u r using different "solution" give me some tips (if u were so kind ) & i try to do my version of ur PERFECT renders ...
