Maya: Sports Car Parking Lot Scene

The Scene was made in Maya 7.0, rendered w/ Mental Ray:

The concept is to create an parking lot scene with any where from 2-4 cars throughout the shot.

My probelm is I lack the knowledge and experience to texture and render the scene as I would like. I'm not capable of pushing the scene any further, so I'd like other users to take over from here. I of course will fix up the Ferrari and Evo...and add other objects to the background as per requests.

The Ferrari model is almost complete...just missing side mirrors, badges and calipers. I'm also working on a Lancer Evolution VI GSR for the scene. This car is almost complete as well. It's missing the exhaust and calipers as well. Although the 'evo' isn't an exotic, I'd would like to incorporate her into the scene.

Anyone willing to improve on what I've done so far, please go ahead. Push the concept as far as you want...but the main thing I'd like to emphasis is realism.

The scene is lack three things:
    • Textures
    • Lighting
    • Realistic Render Settings

PM or email me for the scene if you are interested in working on this as a group project and I will send you the scene.

The scene looks great, you made a good job on garage, however,
I have to say the shape of MODENA are not good, there are many place
modeling mistake if compare with the real car.

True. It's quite obvious that my modeling skills are no where near yours or most other guys on the forum. But that's not the point of this thread.

I modeled the car to the best of my ability at the time and am looking for assistance in texturing (be it shaders or otherwise) and rendering the final scene.

You use 3D Max, so unless you use Maya as well and would like to assist in the scene somehow, please stick to the topic at hand. Click here to enlarge

Your car lot scene is very nice, but some of the materials in your other renders might need some work. try using mr materials, they give a more realistc looking material.

Come on. I'm willing to give my models away for free. All I want is some assistance in the final textures and render. No one?

You're giving away poorly executed car models, and a car garage
that anyone could do with a couple hours and basic shapes, in exchange
of an exhausting and time consuming texturing session along with
    render adjustments.

Thats silly, to me, you could've just asked for help on how to make
the scene more realistic renderwise and you'd roll away clean.

I dont hold the texturing\rendering knowledge you're looking for,
but i suggest you to model a single car, well done, and then worry
about rendering it in a 3d environment.

Having realistic cars in a realistic garage helps making the picture realistic,
then, having a good illumination and good material settings makes it
even more realistic, then, adding some postrender work with photoshop
its the icing on the cake for more realisticism.

It looks like a cross-over between a 360 Modena and a Koenigsegg, with a Ford Puma roof...
Otherwise the garage scene is great! I like the "hot" atmosphere.

So don't worry, the model isn't perfect, but now you can work to obtain a good rendering!Click here to enlarge

You are very arrogant. I may not be a complete perfectionist and fiend for detail, but my model is not crappy. Again it may not look exactly like a 360 Modena...but it's pretty close and most would be able to see that. That said, I think it's pretty good for my first car model.

Obviously if I was looking for advice on how to improve it I would have simply done so. I am at a point where I cannot improve the scene because I'm at my technical/creative limit with Maya. Hence I'm simply acknowledging that if anyone else would like to continue working on it, I will be happy to supply the scene. Click here to enlarge

It's ironic that you complain so much about my scene, yet lack the knowlegde to do any better. Your cinicism is not welcome and since you have nothing constructive to contribute it would be appreciated if you post else where. What's also funny is that you have several abandoned projects...maybe you should continue working on those instead of complaining about the work of others. Click here to enlarge

Do you have any samples of your work so I can get an idea of your level. We can start from there.
