    CG-Cars Animation Workshop

    CG-Cars Animation Workshop

CG-Cars are proud to announce a community Workshop focusing on car animation. 211, as Team Leader, will shortly be opening a seperate Thread in a special Anmation WiP Forum for this Workshop. While it is envisaged that a Core Modelling Team will carry out the main rigging and car model development, this will be a community effort and hopefully we can get as many CG-Cars Members involved in different levels of production. The progress of this project will be openly discussed and documented in the new thread so we can all learn about the process.

    Objectives :
    • Main Objectives: To utilise the talent on CG-Cars and create a short game style intro Animation. To learn about car rigging and animation and to have FUN.
    • Duration: circa 5 min
    • style and quality: game intro/cinematic

    Requirements :
    • Gather a Core Modelling Team of 6-10 talented/dedicated members for modelling, texturing, rigging, animating and rendering
    • Creating this Core Modelling Team with the ability to work smoothly together
    • Set and try and conform to a resonable timeframe and objective milestones
    • Additional modellers will be required to create more content for the environment - mostly lower poly, but well textured props and sundries. A great chance for all to contribute regardless of modelling experience.
    • Creative input for the Storyboard
    • A record will be kept with acknowledgement for all used input from individuals

    Timeplan

The timeplan is being drawn up at present and will be confirmed after the creation of the core modelling team.

Milestones - Dependant on The Core Modelling Team's workload and time, but suggested here as steps in the development of the Project.
    • Creation of Core Modelling Team
    • Story Board
      • Creation of Environment
      • Creation of Cars and Props
      • Animation setup
    • First draft of Animation
    • Final rendering

What we really need atm is a team of commited modelers with solid skills (not necessarily highend) to modell the environment and some cars ofcourse.

So everybody is welcome to participate in this project. You don´t need to have any experience in animation. but you will learn with all of us how to propperly rig and animate a car.

There will be a thread where everybody interested in joining can post and tell us what he´s able and willing to do. and again:

everybody is welcome regardless wether you have experience in animation or not.

there will be plenty of positions to fill, with different needs and i guess we can find something for everyone.
