I wonderd if some people are intrested in a group project.
I think not everybody knows what it is or how it works.
So here a little explanation.
There is 1 car you all going to model and you all show your wip in 1 topic.
I've seen this kinda projects on threedy and I thought maybe some people here would like to do the same kinda thing.
It's good for the beginners. They can learn much from it. (I'm a beginner)
I hope this is a good Idea and I hope people want to spent their time on things like this.
Please tell me what you think of this Idea and maybe you could tell what kind of car you want to be modelled on the project.
Very good idea man! I've got an additional idea: We take some people in a group, plan a concept design car, and then every body model anothe part of the car, maby someone model the roof of the self designed concept car and some othe model the hood, or so...

This is also a great idea, maybe we can do both.
1 concept design project and 1 group project.
That would be great.
I think a concept car design is a bit to advanced for beginners.
very good idea. I´m beginner too and I very embrace the challenge to assignment of experience. Yeaa, count with me.
(My opinion is, that everone should make own model. Not divid into pieces, you make hood, you make bumper....I think it is very good idea too, but not for beginners, and everybody use different software to make model.)
There will shortly be an announcement regarding a CG-Cars group animation project.
There is a LOT of preliminary work being done behind the scenes, and CG-Cars will be introducing the Team Leader for this new project, very soon. Expect an announcement in the next few days regarding this new and exciting project. I'm looking forward to it, too

Hi! Sound good to me. But will it be low or high poly? And how about the modeling style (Box, poly, nurbs) or doesn't that matter?!
That doesn't matter.
Just what you can do the best.
I saw no negative reactions yet so I think its a good idea to think about what car we could use for this project.
First of all, what kind of car do you want to model?
Sport car/Clasic car etc.
I would like to model a sport car.
I don't know which one but I preffer to model a modern sport car.
Great idea. It would be helpfull to look how other people handle modeling problems.
We should begin with a "simple" car. I don't mean a Audi TT ;-). But also no Pagani Zonda or something... It must be but a good car for both beginner and experienced users!
i see bsmmpower's point. In my opinion the benefit of a group project though is that you can work with others to find solutions to problems. In doing so, it seems like a waste to take a car that:
A) as bsmmpower said is easy (Audi TT)
or
B)is overdone (nissan z, lambo)
If there were decent bps, i don't see a problem taking a zonda because it is deifficult. Although i have no clue how i would model it, in a group scenario, there would be the potential to pool knowledge. The challenge of modelling is diminished working in a group so the model itself must be more challenging.
Hmm, lambo/350Z/TT are done too much.
I want to model a orginal model. Not one which is done 1000 times.
Zonda is way to dificult for beginners like me.
It's gonna be tough for one group of people with so many hands trying to touch a single car. I don't really see the benefit here compared to all the troubles that we might get.
What about making a track? Race track or something. Perhaps when done we can all have nice environment for our cars.
This way work can be easily divided and it is possible to create a large scale scene that would otherwise be impossible if it were to be done by an individual.
Talk about track design, modelling, texturing, rendering, most of the tasks can be easily split to different group.
